Furniture in small spaces (Less is more)
Nasceu em Vijayawada, Índia, em 1992. Formou-se em arquitetura na School of Planning and Architecture, em Vijayawada, em 2016. No mesmo ano, entrou como professora assistente na área de arquitetura e design, na KL Education Foundation, em Guntur. Em 2017, enquanto lecionava, começou a trabalhar como freelancer na área de Design Gráfico e Design de Eventos. Trabalhou ainda com a organização Maitraka, que ajuda crianças em situação de carência. Chegou a Portugal em 2019 e foi para Leiria. Mudou-se para as Caldas das Rainha, em 2020.
The urban population more than ever is fast expanding. Spaces are becoming expensive, leading to smaller houses. The majority of the furniture we use in this small house are fixed with screws, glue and other fixing joint pieces. Usually, this furniture can only be assembled and disassembled in a specific method and cannot be used for other purposes. Also, usually, the shelves or wardrobes are fastened to the walls. If we can design furniture which has customization options, it will give users more tools to make the best out of the limited space they have. The challenge begins with planning a design that is compact and practical at the same time and to choose a material with structural integrity and sustainable characteristics.
